Our Process
At Blue Haven St. Louis, we guide you through each step of the pool-building process.
1) Design
Our expert designers collaborate with you to bring your dream backyard to life. We’ll listen to your ideas, explore possibilities, and create a custom design that aligns with your style, space, and budget.
2) Permits
Once your design is finalized, we prepare a detailed construction plan that accounts for your property’s utilities, elevations, and other unique features. We handle the entire permitting process to ensure everything is in place for construction to begin.
3) Excavation
With permits secured, we break ground! Our crew carefully excavates the pool area, shaping the earth to define the size and contours of your new pool.
4) Steel Construction
To ensure strength and durability, steel rods are expertly positioned throughout the pool shell. This reinforcement is key to maximizing the pool’s structural integrity for years of enjoyment.
5) Plumbing & Electric
Next, we dig trenches around the pool and install the necessary plumbing lines and electrical conduits. This step ensures your pool will function efficiently, from water circulation to lighting and heating.
6) Gunite
With the steel framework in place, we apply a thick layer of gunite to form the pool’s structure. This durable concrete mixture is pneumatically applied, creating a strong, solid foundation for your pool.
7) Tile & Coping
Now comes the fun part! We add beautiful tile and coping around the pool’s edges, giving your pool a polished and personalized finish. Choose from a variety of materials and colors to make your pool uniquely yours.
8) Plaster Finish
The interior of your pool is coated with a smooth plaster finish. Opt for one of the many PebbleTec® finishes for a premium, long-lasting surface that enhances both beauty and durability.
9) Fill With Water
Finally, it’s time to fill your pool with water! Once it’s filled, your pool is ready for the finishing touches and final inspection before you can dive into your brand-new backyard oasis.
